El Salvador

  • Asociación Salvadoreña-Mesoamericana de Construcción de Paz (AMESCOPAZ) (since 2009). It consists of 5 teams that facilitate workshops about all 7 themes of MPM, about the methodology, organic farming, alternative medicine, and pain and grief treatment.
  • Young Peace Makers formed by 22 young people who are the core of the peace movement for the pacification of El Tigre and San Antonio communities that suffer from the “maras”, the gangs’ violence. The criminal activity has reduced drastically. Very soon they will have a school of art.
  • Puerto de La Libertad Municipal Council. There are 14 organizations that respond to the needs of the municipality and participate in different activities. These activities include: the launching of the peace festival, the rapid response to flooding, a campaign for the vaccination of children, etc.
  • Mujeres Unidas-Women United-. They are united to defend their rights, to build harmony and equality between women and men, and to participate in projects.
  • Las Lajas Cooperative, La Union. This is a cooperative that was started by MPM and provided funds for the community store after receiving training from Jacinto Peña, from Panama.
  • The turtle project. It has been in existence for 8 years through the San Blas Turtle Association. 120,000 endangered sea turtles have been hatched and released into the ocean.
  • The Peace Rancho. Seats 300 people. We have also built a warehouse with an office at the side. We plan to build six cottages and a kitchen for workshops, training, and renting. It is in El Salvador, five minutes from the beach.
